Teacher Development Program


The Teacher Development Program is a special project cosponsored by the Center for Professional Assessment and the Ministry of Education, Department of Vocational Education.



Teacher Development Program

The Center for Professional Assessment (Thailand) sees an importance in developing vocational English teachers skills to help prepare vocational students for the country’s economic growth and in response to the labor mobilization agreement made within ASEAN countries. 

Therefore, Center for Professional Assessment (Thailand) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Department of Vocational Education are sponsoring an English-teaching training workshop for selected Vocational education English teachers.

 The goals of the workshop are:

  • To develop vocational English teachers’ teaching skills in order to employ those benefits with vocational students, getting the students ready for the competitive career world.
  • To offer vocational English teachers an opportunity to gain and exchange their experience through training.
  •  To develop a role model for self-sustaining teacher development.

Registration

Those who are interested in joining this program must

  • teach English in a public or private vocational school in Thailand
  •  hold Thai nationality

Testing

 Project participants must take a TOEIC test, which is one of the criteria to get into the project. They can choose the time and location. 

While ONLY Vocational Teachers of English are eligible for the training program, the Center for Professional Assessment (Thailand) will provide TOEIC testing on the scheduled dates to ANY Vocational teachers at the promotional rate.

In-House testing ... The examinees can take the TOEIC test at CPA (Thailand), either at…

 Bangkok on:

  • November 8, 2008 4:00-6:30 PM and
  • November 9, 2008 1:00-4:00 PM, or

 Chiangmai on

  • November 8, 2008 9:00-11:30 AM and 1:00-4:00 PM.

  • Ubon Ratchathani

November 9, 2008, 1:00-4:00 PM

  • Surat Thani
  • Hat Yai
  • Rayong
  • Nakornsawan

Documents needed to be shown on test date:

  • Original valid national ID card or Passport
  • Government official card, government employee card or ID card issued by the organization
  • Test fee of Baht 700.00 (Regular Fee Baht 1,200.00) must be paid prior to the test. 

Essay Contest

Applicants who meet the TOEIC requirements will be in an English essay (topic to be announced later). The program committee will review and the top 40 individuals will be selected for the training program.

Training:

The 40 persons will attend a 5-day training hosted by Center for Professional Assessment (Thailand).

Expected Outcome:

  • The project participants will have an opportunity to gain new training experience outside their workplaces.
  • The project participants will apply the skills practiced at the training in improving vocational students English ability.
  • The project participants will become role models in their own organizations.




CPA Thailand provides Test de français international (TFI) and Japanese Proficiency Test (JPT) test administrations every Saturday at the Bangkok Thailand. Advance reservations are required.
